Company Profile

Mark W. Strong founded Horizon Custom Homes in 1999 in order to provide our   community with unparalleled customer service, quality, and value. My. Strong has twenty   five years of professional experience in homebuilding. After graduating with a Bachelor's of Architecture degree from Miami University, Mr. Strong spent fifteen years with a national homebuilder, Ryland Homes. While at Ryland, he held several management   positions, including construction supervisor, salesman, and division coordinator. He came to Charleston in 1987 as Ryland's Homebuilding Manager. Over the next seven years, he was responsible for the construction and servicing of over 1200 homes in the Charleston metropolitan area. In 1988 he was honored with the company's Customer Relations Award. From 1994 to 1998, Mr. Strong was the general manager for Atlas Services, a residential electrical, plumbing, and HVAC company that was the largest residential contractor in South Carolina. He served as South Carolina president after the company joined with several others to become American Residential Services.
